At Viridor, we're investing in state-of-the-art recycling facilities, allowing for a wider range of products to be recycled. Our Materials Recycling Facilities (MRFs) are some of the biggest and most advanced of their kind in Europe. Our MRFs across the UK use a combination of advanced mechanical sorting and manual quality control to separate materials into individual streams, ready to be put back to work. Our investment in technology allows us to operate at the highest quality, environmental, energy efficiency and health and safety standards.

Our Maintenance Team at Milton Keynes are now looking for a talented Maintenance Technician with a Mechanical bias to join them from Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week with the occasional weekend as required.

As our Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will plan, organise and undertake corrective and reactive work, as well as having responsibility for delivering improvement projects which will lead to an increase in plant reliability and cost reduction. Working in a small but crucial team of engineers and reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will ensure the delivery of Planned Maintenance schedules, maximise equipment availability and performance whilst still achieving the output level required to meet production demands.

We are looking for candidates with a demonstrable track record of maintaining and improving the mechanical workings of a facility or large manufacturing operation

and have completed the relevant HNC, NVQ or City and Guilds qualification in a mechanical or fabrication discipline. Previous exposure to an industry with a large-scale process where output and reliability is a priority is essential to this role.

An awareness of Environmental, Healthy and Safety regulations and their impacts, along with a good understanding of proactive maintenance strategies and safe systems of work is required for this role. Candidates should also have knowledge of CMMS systems, their purpose and functions, as well as electrical system and safety.

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will have good communication skills, with the ability to think logically and decisively in order to provide effective engineering management solutions. Working as part of the Maintenance Team, you will build good relationships with colleagues but also be able to work on your own initiative when required.
