Instant Solar Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Greenbean group of companies. In 2007 the company commissioned Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) to create a product whereby photo voltaics (PV) could be used in a novel way to power a suite of office computers. Through the offices of the TEC Centre @ NIMBUS a product was developed that was not only an economically viable green product but was a security-of-supply alternative to the electricity grid.
HOW DOES THE INSTANT SOLAR SYSTEM WORK?
The Instant Solar management system provides uninterrupted power for your computer or telecommunications system by taking solar power from an array of PV panels installed at your premises and using this electricity to power your critical devices.The system stores excess energy in batteries during daylight hours and releases it as required. This unique system matches energy production with consumption in such an efficient way that the size (and cost) of the solar panel array and the battery bank are kept to an absolute minimum. The system is designed to use solar power predominately, with the grid (or alternatively a diesel generator) connection serving as a back-up, for use only when the battery bank is at a low state of charge and there is insufficient solar energy from the PV array. The battery bank also serves as an uninterruptable power supply (UPS) giving up to 20 hours of electrical supply in the event of a loss of the electricity grid supply during no-sun hours. Of course, it will also provide free, quiet & clean power indefinitely when the sun is shining.
WHAT DOES THE INSTANT SOLAR SYSTEM COMPRISE OF?
The Instant Solar Energy Management system is available in either wall or rack-mount versions.
- It utilises state-of-the-art LiFePO4 battery banks.
- It comprises the complete solar PV array plus mounting system.
- The solar PV array and the battery bank are sized according to your individual energy load requirements and your geographical location.
- The complete system, from roof to end use, is installed by our factory trained locally based partners.
