Hillingdon is an impressive borough, the second largest in London, with great assets. Covering 44 square miles, the borough stretches from the Buckinghamshire border in the north to Heathrow Airport in the south and is a key gateway into West London.
There is a strong local economy with good potential for further growth. The geography and environment of the local area are important in shaping Hillingdon's economy through their impact on tourism and business travel, business sectors, workforce and availability of development land.
There are significant regeneration opportunities in the south of the borough with Hayes, West Drayton and Yiewsley full of opportunity for developers and investors, just 15 minutes from Heathrow Airport and with good links into Central London.
As well as larger corporate businesses there is huge scope for location of small and medium enterprises, business start-ups and mixed use development.

Although employees are located across the borough, the Civic Centre is located in the heart of the popular shopping town of Uxbridge. Uxbridge, and the rest of Hillingdon, has fantastic transport links with the A40, M25, Metropolitan, Piccadilly and Central lines all here, so you can travel to work with ease. If you choose to cycle we have parking for your bike, lockers and showers. Heathrow is also in the borough and while you're probably not considering flying to work, it can come in handy when you are looking to take a holiday.
