ABOUT US
WRAP's vision is a world where resources are used sustainably.
We work with businesses and individuals to help them reap the benefits of reducing waste, develop sustainable products and use resources in an efficient way. Established as a not-for-profit company in 2000, WRAP is backed by government funding from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Towards Zero Waste Wales
The Welsh Government has set ambitious targets to achieve zero waste by 2050. How we deal with waste can have huge benefits, not only for the environment but also for our economy and wellbeing.
WRAP Cymru has an important role to play in achieving this milestone, working with partners and businesses to make reducing waste and recycling even easier and more effective.
WRAP Cymru works in partnership to:
- Develop Wales' infrastructure for recycling and reprocessing its waste
- Work with manufacturers to help increase recycled content of their products
- Drive down packaging and food waste, and associated carbon dioxide emissions, through the Courtauld Commitment
- Increase the diversion of biodegradable waste into quality products such as compost and digestate and create demand for these products
Thanks to funding from the Welsh Government, WRAP Cymru has become a major player in environmental business support in Wales, working with partners to move towards a zero waste future for Wales.
