Energy Analyst required for a world leading wind developer’s Cork or Edinburgh office. Joining the Energy Analysis Team and reporting to the Wind Manager, you would provide technical expertise to the onshore wind business with a focus on the UK & Irish market. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and competence in wind resource & energy assessment with extensive knowledge and experience of industry standard yield assessments. Experience in solar is highly beneficial.

Salary Bracket: €55k-60k negotiable, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

* Produce and report on pre-construction energy analysis estimates covering data processing, data quality checking, wind farm layout optimisation, wake and wind flow modelling, estimating energy loss and uncertainty analysis.
* Design site specific measurement wind campaigns covering data collection & reporting of site measurement data from measurement masts and LIDAR units
* Ensure HSSE compliance through liaison with consultants and contractors
* Improve asset performance and reporting through the development and automation of analysis tools and systems for wind and operational data
* Carry out technical due diligence of potential acquisition projects
* Liaise with project teams regarding site condition risks and energy production
* Work with turbine suppliers to identify turbine suitability and technology options with the provision of technical input into turbine supply agreements
* Review performance of preconstruction energy production models against operational performance and provide recommendations for optimisation

Skills & Experience:

* 3-5 years’ experience in pre-construction wind analysis assessment
* Experience using Windographer, WAsP, WindPro & WindFarmer
* CFD wind flow models, ideally Meteodyn
* Minimum 2.1 degree in Physics, Maths, Meteorology or similar numerate discipline
* GIS software
* PVsyst or similar solar resource assessment software
* Data mining & programming languages i.e. VBA, R or Python
