Membership Engagement Manager

Membership Engagement Manager

Based at one of our WWT sites with the opportunity for hybrid working
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
£31,512 to £35,000 per annum

About the role

Supporters, including Members, are at the heart of WWT. They provide crucial support to wetlands in many ways; some give money, some give time, others are vocal in their support, and it’s important that we recognise and celebrate them all.

As Membership Engagement Manager you will be responsible for working with the Fundraising, Marketing and Communications (FMC), Operations and Commercial team to develop a culture of high performance in membership and supporter recruitment, alongside the delivery of excellent supporter care and stewardship.

You will work with site-based teams providing them with the tools, training and reporting required to achieve ambitious membership recruitment targets. You will also work closely with colleagues in FMC, ensuring our on-site approach to membership recruitment is in line with our Supporter Journey approach, and processes are fully compliant with Gift Aid, Fundraising Regulation and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

This role will require regular travel to our 10 Wetland sites across the UK.

About You

You will be a highly professional and personable individual, with demonstrable skills in listening, influencing and building trust with stakeholders across an organisation to deliver high performance.

An excellent communicator you will be experienced in developing and delivering effective strategies. You will also have a clear track record of delivering training in supporter or customer care environments and you’ll be used to implementing action plans to improve performance.

A self-starter, you will thrive on meeting people and developing effective relationships with site-based teams to ensure ambitious targets are met and the best in supporter care and stewardship is delivered.

About Us

The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) is a conservation charity that protects wetlands for wildlife and people. We conserve, restore and create wetlands. We have recently completed a review of our strategic priorities which includes ambitious targets for developing bigger and better wetlands, encouraging more people to take direct action for these unique places, and ensuring decision makers around the world realise the essential role wetlands play in restoring nature, capturing carbon and enhancing health and wellbeing.

WWT is at the beginning of an exciting change. We have ambitious, five year, supporter growth targets ahead of us and we are in the process of building a dedicated and specialised Supporter Engagement Team that will focus on delivering these targets through a data-driven and supporter-centric approach.

In return for your hard work and dedication you’ll enjoy a wide range of benefits including:

- 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays increasing to 30 days’ after 5 years’ service
- Contributory pension scheme (conditions apply)
- Life assurance
- Free car parking and secure bike storage areas
- Cycle to work scheme
- Free entry to all our centres

Closing date: Sunday 22 May 2022
Interview date: Monday 30 May 2022 (via Microsoft Teams) – There may also be a second round of interviews w/c 06 June 2022.
