We are currently looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Senior Environmental Consultant to join our Water and Environment team. We are especially interested to hear from you if you have experience in the water sector and have ideas to develop your role.

If you have experience related to Nutrient Neutrality, Natural Capital and Biodiversity Net Gain, Hydro-Ecology, Water Quality, or Hydro-Geomorphology related areas these would be a great advantage.

Technical project management, bidding and/or field work experience would in additional support this role.

Key responsibilities

* You will work as part of a wider team of multi-disciplinary water and environmental experts that include specialists in the fields of water resources, hydro-ecology, ground and surface water hydrology, flood risk, geomorphology, water quality, aquatic and terrestrial ecology, natural capital, biodiversity net gain, environmental impact assessment and planning.
* Elements of all these disciplines can feature in our work which can include a focus on water resources, drought planning, surface water runoff and water and wastewater investigations.
* As such, critical to this role is understanding various environmental strands and linkages to support us in helping solve, sometimes complex environmental challenges, with a well organised and collaborative approach.
* Together with strong technical project management skills, you will have an ambition to help drive our business forward by delivering excellent services and winning new work.
* A key requirement is for the effective management of the whole project life cycle, from supporting bidding through to execution and close-out.
* The role will require the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and stakeholders that have varying technical understanding. The ability to understand client needs and provide information at the right level of detail is key.

Key competencies and experience

* An understanding of, and experience in one or more water related environmental assessment technical disciplines such as hydrology (surface and/or groundwater), water management, water quality, nutrient neutrality, catchment management, nature-based solutions, natural capital, geomorphology.
* A good understanding of the UK water industry and its regulation.
* The ability to manage technically complex water environmental projects.
* Strong project management skills to ensure a high level of service.
* Experience in proposal writing and winning work.
* An environmentally related degree (ideally with a post-graduate qualification also).
* A clean full UK driving licence.

* If you have an interest in developing our international work in the areas outlined above this would be an additional advantage providing you have a sound understanding of the UK market.
