The role:

The Environmental and Social Planning team are recognised as industry experts with significant experience in all facets of solar farm planning.

This role will focus on identifying, tracking, and reporting environmental and social planning risks at the project and portfolio level, as well as analysing and addressing gaps in processes.

The role will involve working within the Environmental and Social Planning, New Markets team and working closely with the company’s in-house International Business Development (IBD) team (who are responsible for identifying all new markets), Technical, Legal, and relevant in-country development teams in the completion of due diligence assessments of acquisitions, Co-Development, and Greenfield projects/portfolios within new market countries.

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Researching and reviewing information to develop knowledge of planning/permitting processes and typical environmental and social risks within new market countries.
* Reviewing Fatal Flaw Analysis / Feasibility Studies / Red Flag Reports undertaken by external Technical and Legal Advisors and commenting critically on the environmental and social planning findings of these reports.
* Identifying and reporting on environmental, social, and permitting/planning risks, gaps in information, processes and timeframes for individual projects and portfolios.
* Tracking risks and Co-Developer responses/solutions.
* Working with in-country teams on tracking Co-Development partners progress on pre-construction planning obligations and post-construction planning compliance audits for operational assets.

The role may include occasional international travel.


* Applicants should have a sound working knowledge of environmental and social planning and permitting processes (i.e., EIAs/ESIAs, community consultation, review of permit conditions, implementing planning obligations etc.).
* Understanding of the Due Diligence and risk analysis / feasibility assessment process


* Relevant planning experience, beneficial if experience is in more than 1 jurisdiction.
* Ideally experience in ground mount solar PV or other renewables energy/infrastructure projects.
* Degree level planning or environmental qualification required.
* Fluent English essential, additional European languages highly beneficial.
