We are actively seeking a Major Roads Project Manager to lead road schemes across Ireland. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 15 years of experience, hold Chartered status, and demonstrate substantial expertise in major roads planning and design. This includes a track record of providing evidence at Oral Hearings for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR) and Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPO) related to major road schemes.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead major roads planning and design projects.
  • Provide expert testimony at Oral Hearings for EIAR and CPO processes.
  • Contribute to the busy Highways and Transportation team based in Cork or Galway.
  • Take on the role of a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible team lead.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and take responsibility for project outcomes.

Desirable Skills/Attributes:

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in a consultancy environment.
  • Degree-level education (level 8/9 engineering degree).
  • Chartered status.
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft suite programs and a good understanding of MS Project.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant design standards, including DMRB/DMURS.
  • Experience in design and build schemes.
  • Comprehensive involvement in roads scheme development in Ireland, covering Preliminary Design, Planning, Detailed Design, Tender Assessment, and Construction Supervision.
  • Possession of a full driving license.
