Title: Ecologist (Report Writer)
Location: Fieldwork across Ireland as required & office visits in Ennis or Cork monthly 
Flexibility: Allowed to work from home when not attending fieldwork

The dedicated team of professionals specializes in Ecological Surveys and Environmental Impact Assessments, contributing to the preservation and enhancement of our natural environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Project managing smaller scale reports – AA, NIS, EIA Screening, Preliminary EIA, EcIA, PEA, Biodiversity Management Plans
  • Monitoring PM’d report
  • Creating and maintaining templates – AA, NIS, EIA Screening, General reports (ecology), Preliminary EIA
  • Report writing SOP and checklist
  • Reviewing reports – formatting
  • Offering report writing guidance
  • Monitoring Ecology reports (through report writing planner and Jira) – EcIA, End of Season reports
  • Maintaining reporting resources – Statements of Authority; list of methodologies to be created; reference list
  • Updating legislation – Quality Assurance, Introduction sections, Methodology
  • Reporting training and presentations
  • Offering reporting assistance to EIAR team
  • Maintaining library (published EIARs/NISs from other authors) and case laws
  • Readying reports for issue – formatting and PDFing
  • Review planning sites/files for resources (e.g. windfarms in relevant areas)
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one to three years of practical experience in conducting Ecological Surveys and Environmental Impact Assessments (seasonal, freelance, or volunteering previous experiences in the Irish Ecological sector will be considered). 
  • Strong knowledge of the Irish Ecological/Environmental regulations and guidelines.
  • Excellent fieldwork and data collection skills.
  • Proficiency in using relevant ecological survey tools and software.
