Location: Nationwide options with hybrid/flexible arrangements are available. Exactly location can be arranged in due course according to your preference.
Travel: Fieldwork across Ireland may be required especially at the first level.

You will play a pivotal role in our client's team, providing expertise in Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for a wide range of meaningful projects.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements for Mid level:
Responsibilities:
- Authoring chapters of Environmental Impact Assessments and other environmental projects (for example Strategic Environmental Assessments, EIA Screenings, Stakeholder Engagement, environmental planning application documentation).
- Input into design stage of various projects from an environmental aspect.
- Liaising with project teams and attendance at project meetings when required.
- Ensuring that the quality of deliverables is to a consistently high standard and ensuring that all deliverables are undertaken in accordance with relevant legislation and best practice.
- Ensuring the delivery of exceptional client service, delivering all work on time and to a high standard within project delivery deadlines.
Requirements:
- A third-level qualification in environmental science, ecology, environmental engineering, or related fields that give the candidate the necessary skills to complete the role (essential).
- A minimum of 3 years post-graduate technical experience in fulfilling similar functions or in a similar role (essential).
- An understanding of the Irish planning system (essential).
- Experience working with EU and Irish environmental legislation (essential).
- Experience at project EIAR/Planning/Construction stage (essential).
- Comprehensive knowledge of EIAR and EPA Licencing regulations (essential).
Key Responsibilities & Requirements for Senior/Principal level:
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage environmental impact assessment projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Provide expert advice on environmental planning matters, collaborating with clients and stakeholders to develop sustainable solutions.
- Conduct environmental audits to assess compliance with regulatory standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and review environmental reports, including Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and agencies to obtain necessary permits and licenses for project development.
- Mentor and support junior staff members, providing guidance on environmental regulations and best practices.
- Stay abreast of developments in environmental legislation and industry trends, incorporating new knowledge into project strategies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, and architects, to integrate environmental considerations into project designs.
- Represent the company at client meetings, public consultations, and regulatory hearings, presenting environmental findings and recommendations.
- Contribute to business development activities, including proposal writing, client presentations, and networking events.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field (essential).
- Minimum of 5 years' (senior level) and 8 years' (principal level) experience in environmental consultancy or a related field (essential).
- Strong expertise in environmental impact assessments, planning, auditing, compliance, and licensing (essential).
- Previous working experience with relevant environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks in Ireland, the UK, and beyond (essential).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex environmental concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proven project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Experience mentoring and supervising junior staff members is desirable.
- Professional certifications or memberships in relevant professional bodies (e.g., IEMA, CIWEM) are advantageous.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements for Associate level:
Responsibilities:
- Delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports.
- Taking ownership of projects from inception to completion and providing regular project updates to the environment team director and clients.
- Project Lead on EIA projects involving multidisciplinary teams.
- Technical lead in a discipline as related to EIA an advantage e.g. ecology, noise or air quality.
- Preparing planning applications, licences, permits and annual environmental reports e.g. waste licences.
- Knowledge of the regulatory environment in Ireland including planning and permitting/licensing requirements.
- Prioritising projects while balancing client expectations, available staff resources and project deadlines.
- Proposal preparation, and identifying follow on work opportunities with existing clients and work to develop opportunities broadening client base.
Requirements:
- Have an understanding of EIA and planning laws that affect EIA in Ireland (essential).
- A relevant environmental degree level qualification in EIA, or similar (essential).
- Demonstrable post-qualified experience of leading environmental assessments on a variety of projects, including large scale infrastructure projects, and across different development sectors, such as rail, energy, housing, highways (essential).
- Comprehensive project management skills, including commercial and risk aspects, forecasting, and quality assurance
- Experience in work winning and bid preparation activities.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements for Technical Director level:
- Play a key role in the expansion and diversification of our offer in the water sector, working alongside sector leads and client account managers to provide thought leadership and win new business.
- Providing environmental advice and support to clients, project managers and colleagues.
- Working with colleagues, diverse environmental specialists, clients and engineering teams to promote sustainable design and environmental enhancement.
- Leading large, multiple, and complex projects, overseeing our performance on technical, quality, commercial, and health and safety.
- Building relationships with clients and identifying opportunities to provide support in areas such as resourcing, programming, strategy development and project delivery.
- Proactively seeking to develop new client relationships and actively seeking opportunities for marketing services and cross-selling, including presenting at conferences on behalf of the company.
- Undertaking activities to secure new work, including developing proposals for complex opportunities, delivering strategic level bids and framework opportunities, and undertaking business development opportunities.

Requirements:
- Relevant environmental/planning degree or equivalent experience (essential).
