Job Summary
AECOM is looking to recruit a Civil Engineer to join its Water team based in Teesside.  The team provides comprehensive design expertise on multi-disciplinary projects with a multidisciplinary team of Engineers providing a professional design service to clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of civil engineering drawings, supporting calculations and specifications working in a design build environment. 

Projects worked on from our Teesside office are broad based and include federal work relating to the water sector, this can be anything from water supply, wastewater, distribution systems and firefighting.  A major project moving forward is Potash, a long tunnel, portal site, manufacturing facilities and supporting civils infrastructure - power, water and waste.

Job Duties

Include;Responsible for the preparation and successful completion of all engineering deliverables.
Produces technical calculations to high standards of quality using current computer software. Prepares technical specifications.
Reviews work produced by others to ensure timely and accurate results. Completes performance evaluations for those assigned.
Ensures compliance of design with all applicable standards and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract.
Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
Conducts surveys, studies, site investigations.
Provides site support during the construction period including dealing with technical queries and site visits.
Recommends and prepares technical papers.
Helps determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. May assist Section Supervisors with other administrative and technical duties.

Minimum Requirements
To be successful in this role we would like to hear from candidates with the following;UK based consultancy design experience
Experience of the regulated and private water sector would be a distinct advantage.
Some experience of tunneling, ports and marine and defence sectors would be beneficial.
The ability to drive a team to deliver outputs using AutoCAD, 3D / BIM, AutoPlant 3D.
Experience of hydraulic pipework design and detailing.
Good understanding of industry standard and particular specifications.
Demonstrable understanding of hydraulic modelling software (Infoworks, ICM, MicroDrainage).
Checking and review of reinforced concrete details and schedules.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
Incorporated Engineering or working towards Chartered status.
