A long-standing client of mine is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Flood Risk & Drainage Consultant/Engineer to join their growing team in Bedford. This is an exciting role for someone looking for the next step up in their career, or someone looking to take a sideway step with the promise of great career progression.

With over 10 years in the industry, they are fully established and are able to work on some of the biggest projects in the UK. The company started with 3 friends who joined specialties to start this company which has since organically grown to where it is in the current market.

Role & Company:

You day-to-day will consist of management of a small team undertaking flood risk and drainage projects across London, South East and Anglian Regions. You will be involved in the support of the development of engineering design skills across the company, whilst contributing to the management and growth of the companies FRM Sector, including leading on tender submissions.

You will be leading and undertaking flood alleviation scheme design and undertaking detailed drainage and SuDS design/strategies.

Qualifications & Experience:

They are looking for an experienced flood risk and/or drainage engineer with at least 5 years’ experience in design and contract management, who is a proven project manager, able to manage small design teams to achieve project deadlines, budget and full CDM compliance.

You will be conscientious and show reliability and dedication to delivering technical and community focused projects. You will be required to have previous project management experience and be familiar with PRINCE2 and/or Agile approaches to managing projects.

Ideally you will be a Chartered Civil Engineer.
