We are looking for an experienced Technical Director to join our Groundwater & Water Resources team based in Basingstoke UK but with an international and collaborative outlook. Working with our water, mines and quarries, oil & gas, industrial clients, manufacturing and transport clients we expect the new appointment to lead integrated delivery across a range of hydrogeological services. We are looking for an individual with a strong background in groundwater management, modelling capabilities to simulate water-related environmental problems and the solution of hydrogeological questions under a range of hydrogeological conditions. The successful individual should have experience covering EIA in mining and other sectors.

The Technical Director will sit with in the Groundwater &Water Resources team in Basingstoke UK and be expected to collaborate with other disciplines and with other geographies in developing solutions that meet our client’s needs and expectations. This will involve client account management. The individual should be familiar with AECOM’s Project Management systems (MAP/ePM) or similar and we are looking for someone with financial and commercial acumen as well as the ability to build, motivate and lead teams

The groundwater team covers a broad range of hydrogeological activities including groundwater resource evaluation and development; hydrogeological impact assessment of major infrastructure schemes including water, transport, mines and tunnels; and groundwater control and dewatering. Projects are UK based and international for a range of clients including contractors and water companies.

This is your opportunity to work as part of a team of specialist water resources hydrogeologists on a variety of projects for a range of different clients in different sectors. The team is part of the Environment and Ground Engineering group in AECOM

Job Duties:

•Work closely with our clients’ teams and demonstrate strong behavioural competencies with respect to client care, collaborative working, responsibility and independent decision making.
•Lead client relationships and through those relationships look to develop future opportunities and work especially in the mining sector.
•Be a leader on safety and ensure that safety is clearly set as our priority during project delivery
•Lead project delivery for groundwater and water resource assessments, hydrogeological environmental impact assessments, Hydrogeological Risk Assessments and dewatering and seepage analysis in UK and across EMIA ensuring work is delivered on time on budget and meeting or exceeding client expectations.
•Mentor and line manage others to develop.
Specific Skills Required :•Current driving licence.
•Member of a relevant professional body.
 


Minimum Requirements : 
 
•Proven track record in leadership and successful delivery of hydrogeological projects
•International experience and an ability to work in difficult and sometime challenging geographies
•Possess strong problem solving and inter-personal skills.
•Demonstrates high level of accountability and independent decision making.
•Works closely and collaboratively with colleagues, client and delivery partners.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills; the ability to write a clear and concise technical report is essential.
•Strong analytical capabilities and proficient in the use of relevant design software.
•Willing to travel to other offices and sites within the UK and overseas.
 


Preferred Qualifications : 
 
•BSc in Geology or an equivalent
•MSc in Hydrogeology or equivalent
