Senior Energy Management Consultant

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior energy Management Consultant or Energy Manager to join a global consultancy that provides a full turn-key sustainability offering.

Joining the energy management team as a Senior Energy Consultant in preferably Bristol but with potential to be located in London or Manchester, you will play an integral part in developing the energy services offering. 

The energy consultancy is already working on a range of strategic, organisational, analytical, regulatory and technical projects and, reporting into the Head of Energy Management you will be incremental in moving the proposition from a majority of public sector and compliance focused work to a portfolio that in more C&I focused with added technical bias.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for designing, securing and delivering projects.  You will be skilled at recognising client requirements; proposing practical solutions; and managing the delivery of work on time and on budget. You will develop and manage key client relationships and will be confident in promoting the broader businesses work through industry publications and networking events.

The ideal candidate will have a strong grounding in relevant technical disciplines whilst having demonstrated a successful client development track record.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

·         Delivering a range of technical and strategic energy management projects on time and on budget

·         Project managing the delivery of energy management work

·         Imparting specialist knowledge to team members and providing support in project delivery by others

·         Analysing complex datasets and disseminating meaningful information

·         Producing external and internal facing crystal-clear project reports in a form suitable for the target audience

·         Building strong and lasting relationships with clients and industry influencers

·         Participating in developing opportunities and securing sales with new and existing clients

·         Self-development, market research and intelligence-gathering

 

Skills/competencies required:

 

·         Project development and delivery

·         High level energy auditing

·         Numerical and data analysis skills

·         Broad understanding of energy consuming equipment and plant and their corresponding savings potential

·         Knowledge of energy and carbon regulations and compliance sufficient to advise a public and private sector client base

·         Project-management skills including the delivery of work by internal teams and sub-consultants

·         Proven client management skills

·         Experience in sales support activities

·         Ability to develop winning propositions for new and existing clients

 

Desirable:

In addition to the required skills and competencies, we are interested from hearing from candidates with one or more of the following:

·         Proven experience in selling to, and working with private sector clients

·         Ability to author compelling business cases relating to investment in energy management opportunities

·         Experience of leveraging funding for energy management opportunities

·         Detailed knowledge of financing models for energy management

·         Advanced data handling skills

·         Competence in mechanical or electrical engineering

·         Excellent presentation skills

·         Experience in developing and implementing polices, strategies and action plans relating to sustainability and energy management

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

 

·         Ability to work as an effectively within virtual teams

·         Bachelors/Master’s Degree (science or engineering based preferred)

·         Member or associate member of an appropriate industry body (i.e. CIBSE / Energy Institute / IEMA)

·         Self-motivation and ability work without supervision

·         Right to work in the UK

·         Willing to travel and visit clients across the UK.
