Our client, a leading independently owned waste operator, is looking to recruit a Contract Manager to take responsibility for the efficient management and continuous development of a high profile Total Waste Management (TWM) contract.  

Key duties will include:

Manage performance of the contract to customer specifications/targets, KPI’s & SLA’s.

Lead, manage, motivate and develop a team of ‘Green Resource Officers’ to achieve and maintain high standards of performance against their role requirements

Manage the day-to-day activities of the Green Resource Officers working on the contract, ensuring their activities drives engagement across the customer’s site and targets recycling improvements.

Continuous evaluation of the Green Resource Officers activities to identify and implement areas of improvement in performance and/or efficiency.

Represent the company at regular contract review meetings.

Maintain regular visible contact with key stakeholders and other contractors (FM’s etc.) across the contract.

Make sure that day-to-day operational matters and client queries are dealt with sufficiently by the Contract Supervisors / administrative teams.

Ensure a high standard of customer care, in order to retain all existing services across the contract.

Update customer on new technology, innovations and legislation.

Research any changes, or impending amendments to legislation, or guidelines, that may impact on the business. Disseminate this knowledge to the Team.

Identify add-on opportunities to increase the growth of the contract.

Be aware of any market trends or opportunities and manage the development of new services and products to expand the offering to the customer or wider business.

Carry out regular reviews of the services across the contract, type of service, best value and profitability, continually looking to boost contract turnover and profitability.

Manage and review the contract pricing strategy, taking into account the cost of working, overall profitability and current market rates for all services across the contract

Seek to add value to the contract by means of continuous improvement

Ensure correct management information (MI) is supplied to the customer specification in a timely manner and maintain pricing schedule and ensure correct billing on a monthly basis.

Organise and carry out presentations, waste awareness seminars, customer engagement activities and facility tours / audits.

Maintain a good working knowledge of waste management practices and legislation.

Liaise with regulatory bodies and agencies.

Prepare and submit regular contract development and financial reports, as requested by Head of Contract Management and General Manager.

Deliver company “Tool Box” talks

Drive and manage change within the contract, be that internal and external customers/suppliers.
