We have an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to play an important role within the growing Water Team in our Cardiff office.

Increasing demand for our services has created an opportunity to be involved in an exciting range of projects, notably for several Water and Wastewater Companies, which span feasibility, detailed design and construction. There is also the potential to work on flood and coastal management projects for a range of local and national clients.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out feasibility studies, outline designs and detailed designs for water and wastewater assets.

  • Preparing and reviewing reports, technical specifications and proposals.

  • Undertaking visits to clients’ construction sites to ensure installed works meet the design requirements and relevant industry specifications.

  • Working as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team and leading junior team members when necessary.

  • Assisting the project manager in the delivery of schemes.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in delivering designs, ideally from initial studies through to detailed design, associated with one or more of the following:

o Wastewater networks including gravity systems, rising mains and pumping stations;

o Water and/or wastewater treatment and associated civil works;

o Structural design of chambers and water retaining structures;

o Construction of water and wastewater assets.

  • Have an enthusiastic and collaborative approach to your work, demonstrating the relevant behaviours and work ethos to solve client and project problems.

  • Understanding of the application, benefits and limitations of a wide range of design solutions, including buildability and operational constraints.

  • Ability to manage technicians to deliver high quality drawing outputs.

  • Ability to liaise with clients, contractors and the supply chain.

  • Experience of delivering project work to agreed programme, cost and quality requirements.

  • Value and contribute to a strong Health and Safety culture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSc, BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering or similar discipline, or commensurate mix of experience and qualifications.

  • Working towards Chartered status.
