Cathcart Energy are recruiting for a Lead Electrical Engineer with Gas Turbines & Steam Turbines experience.

As part of your role, you will be managing projects, developing long term asset and outage strategies, developing maintenance plans and procedures in addition to providing leadership for day to day maintenance. As one of the technical experts on site, you will be responsible for electrical asset maintenance, investigating plant defects, providing detailed root cause analysis and solutions. Improvement of safety, environmental, reliability and flexibility is important to us, so you will be required to contribute ideas and solutions which improve the safety, reliability, availability and efficiency of the asset.

You will have to ability to effectively recognise the need and requirement to provide direction and mentoring to others. You will have a good understanding of PMMS’s to enable you to effectively manage the existing maintenance strategy and to advise on areas of improvement to ensure the plant remains safe, efficient in a very competitive power generation market.

Your Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will be educated to a minimum of HND level in an electrical discipline and have experience of completing a similar role with a heavy engineering industry. Due to your experience, you will have knowledge of contract legislation, regulation relating to Health and Safety and detailed knowledge in regard to legislation for electrical systems.

Good communication skills are essential to ensure you can work across multidiscipline teams and the ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders. You will be comfortable working to tight deadlines.

Thermal is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all thermal power plants in GB and ROI including gas and oil-fired generation (CHP), coal-fired generation and gas-fired generation.
