AECOM’s UK Environment and Planning team is looking to recruit a Senior/Principal EIA professional to be based in Edinburgh and/or Aberdeen. The successful candidate will have a track record of successful delivery of EIA and offshore environmental permitting services to the marine infrastructure development sector, including Oil and Gas, both within the UK and Internationally. Experience in O&G decommissioning and/or offshore renewables would additionally be beneficial. We are looking for someone who is able to work independently on a day to day basis, supported within a vibrant and diverse team of highly skilled and experience technical specialists. The Senior/Principal EIA consultant will deliver consultancy and advisory services to both internal and external clients, to a high level of technical quality and to programme and budget. This position will likely include a degree of travel within the UK, specifically including Aberdeen, as well as the opportunity to support our international projects.

Job Duties:

  • Manage the technical and financial delivery of EIA projects on a day to day basis, to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standard.

  • Contribute to business development and work winning opportunities with new and existing clients including preparation of tenders and fee proposals, with support and guidance from more senior members of the AECOM team.

  • Knowledge of applicable marine environmental legislation / regulation and guidance in UK and/or international context.

  • Demonstrate a good understanding of marine environmental data sources and an ability to complete environmental desk studies.

  • Manage and deliver required project documents, under the guidance of our experienced Project Directors.

Minimum Requirements

  • Sound understanding of EIA process and environmental technical specialisms

  • Knowledge and or interesting in marine environmental assessment and offshore permitting and consenting.

  • Highly motivated and able to work on with limited direction

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Specifically the ability to write concise, technical reports is essential.

  • Ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure

  • IT literate – good working knowledge of Microsoft office software system.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree Qualification within a relevant environmental or science subject

  • A relevant post-graduate qualification and Chartership or other professional accreditation/registration with a recognised body is desirable
