The Client

Our client is a nationally recognised and respected UK based consultancy specialising in engineering and environmental services.  Their service lines include the breadth of engineering from civil, structural through to ground engineering and buildings services.  The environmental division is equally robust and has a high profile within the organisation taking a lead on many established clients.  Service lines are diverse and range from contaminated land services, EIA from acoustics and air quality to environmental and transactional due diligence.   

Our client's approach to the market is one of ensuring technical excellence, mitigating risks for their clients by understanding what the client is looking to achieve and delivering a solution geared around their commercial requirements.  The company's culture is relaxed and autonomous to allow for this customer focus and this approach has lead to them obtaining numerous industry awards and recognition. 

Normally promotion from within encouraged to develop staff, however in this instance they are looking to acquire a senior individual from the industry who can bring the appropriate skills to the team in order to help develop internal skills and client relationships. 


The Role

An opening has arisen for a Principal Consultant to work within the Manchester office. A motivated individual is sought, who is currently operating in a technical and professional organisation and is developing a proven track record in the delivery of quality consultancy services to high profile clients.  There is a requirement to deliver to deliver to clients EIA and associated services in conjunction with other divisions. 

The successful individual would join an established and enthusiastic team in Manchester’s multi-disciplinary office and would contribute to the delivery of a range of interesting projects and clients within the UK.  In addition to client facing work, project management and delivery, there is a mentoring culture within the organisation and team development would be expected working with staff in the other offices to increase knowledge and provide an effective delivery to clients.


Candidate Profile

It is anticipated that the successful individual would have;


A track record of delivering UK based EIA projects 

Any individuals with specialist chapter experience of EIA, ie ecology etc would be of interest, if they have a broad appreciation of the EIA process

Appropriate qualifications and charterships 

A track record managing and delivering projects on time and on budget

An ability to communicate effectively and commercially with clients
