An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the South West's leading employers as a Distribution Technician for our team based in Roundswell, Barnstaple helping to maintain the water distribution network compromising of water mains, water pumps stations and service reservoirs.

The Role

The Distribution Technician will provide ‘Pure Service' to our customers through effective customer interaction, network operation and maintenance in order to meet the required quality and quantity. You will resolve contacts in a proactive manner to ensure reactive work is minimised. Additionally, you will work with the Drinking Water Services Manager to ensure Drinking Water Services asset base is effectively maintained. The role comes with the requirement to participate in a standby rota.

The Ideal Distribution Technician:

 *Proven ability to work within a team environment but also on your own. *Proven ability to communicate and liaise effectively with internal and external customers in both verbal and written contexts. *Excellent customer service skills with the ability to act with tact and diplomacy towards others *General Health & Safety awareness *Strong skills in problem solving and fault finding *IT literate and able to use mobile technology *Experience within the utility sector *Have a desirable understanding of pipeline construction *Demonstrable knowledge of working in the highway *Full UK driving license *Ability to show resilience in a fast changing operational environment
