Electrical Maintenance Technician – Bargeddie

At Viridor, we're investing in state-of-the-art recycling facilities, allowing for a wider range of products to be recycled. Our Materials Recycling Facilities (MRFs) are some of the biggest and most advanced of their kind in Europe. Our MRFs across the UK use a combination of advanced mechanical sorting and manual quality control to separate materials into individual streams, ready to be put back to work. Our investment in technology allows us to operate at the highest quality, environmental, energy efficiency and health and safety standards.

Our MRF in Bargeddie is currently undergoing construction and is central to Scotland's ambition to deliver a zero waste, circular economy which encourages waste reduction, boosts recycling and recovers vital renewable energy from what remains.

As our Electrical Maintenance Technician at the new Bargeddie MRF, you'll be responsible for delivering the Planned Maintenance (PM) schedules as defined by the site maintenance plans, working to a high standard and in a cost effective manner.

You'll also be responsible for planning, organising and undertaking corrective and reactive work whilst also being responsible for delivering improvement projects to increase plant reliability and cost reduction.

You will have experience of working within a processing or manufacturing and have completed the relevant NVQ or City and Guilds qualifications. An awareness of Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and their impacts, along with a good understanding of proactive maintenance strategies and safe systems of work is required for this role, along with knowledge of CMMS systems, their purpose and functions, as well as electrical system and safety.

The Electrical Maintenance Technician will have good communication skills, with the ability to think logically and decisively in order to provide effective engineering management solutions. Working as part of the Maintenance Team, you will build good relationships with colleagues but also be able to work on your own initiative when required.

You will require a full UK driving license.
