We are supporting a multi-disciplinary consultancy operating within the UK and Internationally, who are looking for an experienced environmental consultant (EIA) to join their team at either a consultant or senior level. As a key member of the environment team you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of prestigious and technically complex projects including ports, harbours, wind, wave and tidal energy schemes.

The successful candidate will be able to undertake work within the context of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process and the UK planning and Environmental Permitting systems. My client’s key project work is focused around renewables (onshore element of offshore wind developments), waste to energy projects, mixed use development schemes, flood alleviation schemes as well as industrial sites.

As a multi-disciplined team, this role may require travel within the UK to other team offices. This role would suit candidates with demonstrable client facing experience and the ability to represent your company when leading meeting and working with external parties. There is scope to join the Environment team in one of various UK offices; Edinburgh, London, Peterborough, Manchester, Exeter or Birmingham.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

The Senior Environmental Consultant’s brief will include;

* Supporting the delivery of large scale EIA project teams
* Working closely with colleagues within the land quality team as well as other technical disciplines including transport, maritime, water, waste and geotechnical specialists
* Develop your knowledge of policy and legislation in the environmental and energy sectors
* Providing inputs to proposals and tenders

Qualifications / Experience:

The Senior Environmental Consultant will have;

* BSc and/or MSc in a related discipline
* Experience in project management and EIA consultancy. Experience of working on renewable projects is highly regarded
* Understanding of the EIA process and relevant government policy
* Knowledge of the UK planning and consenting system
* Membership of a relevant institution
