Acre are searching for a highly strategic leader to parachute into a newly created role to create a carbon reduction strategy from scratch. Reporting to a board member you will be responsible for developing, embedding and delivering on a brand-new carbon reduction strategy.

Role Function:

* Lead the creation of ‘Science-Based Targets’ by using your extensive network to help develop an independent expert panel around carbon offsetting and GHG emissions reduction
* Creating the strategy for carbon offsetting, sustainable fuels and implementing and delivering on company-wide carbon reduction targets
* Expand scope of GHG Emissions reporting to include Scopes 2 and 3
* Partner with suppliers across the supply chain to ensure effective data collation (SMART / real time data collection) and reporting processes and KPIs are in place
* Lead cross sector partnership activity, and commission research to accelerate the carbon reduction journey and enable low carbon "end-to-end" customer journeys

To be successful in this post you will need to have the ability to set up a brand-new carbon reduction strategy from scratch and work in a fast-paced environment without much structure or process in place. You will be working with an internationally renowned brand; however, it may feel like you are in a start up environment with the culture of the organisation and ambitions of this role.

Requirements:

* Expertise with carbon foot-printing, carbon reduction strategies and their implementation and reporting on progress with company carbon reduction targets, agreed with the Company Board
* Strong knowledge of carbon offsetting programmes, their development & delivery, best practice, and detailed knowledge of all current global carbon offsetting standards
* Strong technical understanding of carbon related issues - embodied energy, GHG, renewable energy initiatives, sustainable fuels
* Working knowledge of embedding carbon/energy elements into the wider sustainability plan, convening and leading internal working groups as required
* Ability to influence at all levels

This is an opportunity to create a develop a brand-new carbon reduction strategy across a leading company in their field. We need an exceptional individual to hit the ground running and start to make a positive impact from day one. The contract will be on-going until the strategy is set and a permanent hire will start the implementation.
