An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the South West's leading employers as a Leakage Data Technician based from either Exewater or Roundswell Depot, Barnstaple.

What will you be doing?

Joining our team, the Leakage Data Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining and calibrating a wide variety of leakage meters and data loggers to provide accurate and consistent flow data.  This is essential for the accurate reporting of leakage and to facilitate the effective management of the water supply network.

You will be a field-based resource to deliver long-term compliance with consistency reporting for Leakage and Water Balance company performance commitments. This role will require the individual to work across both areas 5 and 6 (East and North Devon). Other responsibilities includes:

 *Maintenance of leakage assets (Meters, data loggers, interfaces etc) to ensure accurate reporting of DMA leakage levels. *Specifically, help increase and augment data collection for abstraction, distribution input, commercial and domestic customers and company works sites by responding to logger faults and rectifying data. *Manage own schedule of work and co-ordinate where necessary with other DWS Technicians, to assist or gain assistance with complex jobs. *Undertake training to develop specialist skills in flow metering and logging to perform flow calibration and uncertainty analysis on regulatory meters and provide expertise in maintaining regional flow data. *Liaise with equipment suppliers regarding the status of orders and liaise with logger suppliers for credit requirements and remedial work agreements. *Maintaining leakage and water balance gap documentation. Accurately completing, recording, logging and storing key documentation to ensure that processes and jobs have a clear and concise audit trail in line with company regulatory requirements. *Deputising for the Water Supply Metering Team Leader as appropriate to ensure the effective management of team workload continues when leave is taken. *Assist the wider DWS team to maintain the efficient running of the water supply network and to partake within Distribution standby rota.

What do you need?

 *NVQ Leakage Detection Level 2 / City and Guilds or ONC in relevant subject *National Water Hygiene Certificate *Relevant experience in Water Supply activity preferred *Proven ability to work within a team environment but also on your own *Proven ability to communicate and liaise effectively with internal and external customers *Understanding of principles of Health and Safety procedures. *Adaptable and able to take on new skills which is essential in a continuous improvement environment *Strong skills in problem solving and fault finding *Understanding of principals of COSHH, CABWI Units 1, 2 & 10 procedures and Basic First Aid would be beneficial *Ability to show resilience in a fast-changing operational environment *Full UK Driving Licence
